Warts are common skin growths caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). They are contagious through direct contact and can appear on the hands, feet (plantar warts), face, or other areas.

Treatment options

Many warts eventually resolve on their own, especially in children, but treatment can speed clearance and reduce spread.
